I'm not sure I can camp for the weekend, but definitely wanted to come up on at least one of the days to see everyone. If I register, do I have to register for the whole weekend, or is there a one-day option?
We would love to have you join us for the entire event but understand that this is not always possible. The two major expenses for this reunion are the campground and the catering. If you are only able to join us for a limited time we would like it to be to the Friday evening Luau which includes the open bar and karaoke. Because the Luau incurs the biggest real expense and because the campground is a real cost regardless of your camping status we must insist the registration fee be the same across the board. As you know, many reunions that include dinner and four hours in a hotel banquet room can easily exceed $100 per person and do not include an open bar so we hope that you understand our position on this and can join us, even if it is just for the day. You are more than welcome to confirm your registration and join us for any portion of the event; you will receive your wristband and are welcome to stay any portion of the weekend you would like, your choice. We hope you understand that we can be flexible on the times you can attend but not with the pricing.
Can we attend the Family Day at the Bay only?
We regret to inform you that this event has been canceled for lack of interest. We have recently had a few questions regarding the initial idea of a Family Day At The Bay, during the Reunion. As most people have not expressed a desire to attend this portion, it has been removed from the agenda. The funds that were set aside for a Family Day have been re-distributed to make it possible for a nightly open bar, and daily breakfast, lunch and dinner for the camping attendees.
We really would like to see you! If you are only able to join us for a limited time we would like it to be to the Friday evening Luau which includes the open bar, full catered luau, photographer, video presentation and karaoke.
Can you tell me how the pay-pal thing works? It doesn't seem safe to me.
Consider PayPal an escrow service. They offer a safe and secure way to make a payment to someone without disclosing any of your personal information to the recipient. PayPal was founded in 1998 and was acquired by eBay in 2002. Please refer to their website at www.paypal.com for more information regarding their service. We would actually prefer payment via check as the cost of processing for the PayPal service is $3.20 per transaction. Checks can be made payable to Rick Kirkpatrick and mailed to: 3320 Clarksburg Drive, Austin, TX 78745 with "Lost Moments Reunion" on the memo line.
What if you don't get enough people to sign up to pay for everything? What happens to the people that pay early? How will they get their money back?
We believe we have enough interest to make this event a successful one. We have quite a bit of flexibility regardless of the number of people attending and can make adjustments as required. What this means is that if the number of people that actually register is low we will be able to make adjustments with the caterer and other expenditures as needed. If the count is really low we will may need to eliminate certain extras such as casino night that depend on a greater number of participants. Obviously, the more people that register, the higher the overall expenses but all monies collected will be allocated to the reunion. For example, 80 people attending will allow for bigger prizes but will also require additional food, liquor and tubing costs. A deposit of $426.50 has already been made on the campground. All other expenditures have different timing requirements. The reunion will happen regardless of the number of attendees and we hope you can join us to assure the best possible event.
Why is $100 the magic number?
In these economic times our goal was to make this reunion as fun filled as possible yet inexpensive enough so as many people as possible could attend. A lot of effort was put into negotiating the best possible pricing for goods and services to maximize the value/benefit to cost. We are able to commit to the essentials for this event even with a low turnout with this fee.
You should probably show how much everything costs.
We do. In fact, you can view this as well if you're interested. We are not a third party company trying to make a profit. Had we chosen to have an event planner put this exact event together we would have had to charge $200 - $300 per person. Again, we wanted this reunion to offer as much as possible for as little as possible.
This isn't like the last reunion where we pay a company to arrange it and it says what you get.
You are absolutely correct and this is the main reason we are able to offer so much for so little. The fact that we are performing all the leg work that goes into putting an event like this on means that we aren't paying a company a premium and these savings are going directly back to you.
This is a pay-as-you go venture.
I am not sure what this statement refers to. Our goal is to have everything included in the registration cost with the exception of the professional photographers portraits.
I think it would be good if there was some kind of guarantee.
What kind of guarantee would you like? We will be having the reunion regardless of the number of participants. Obviously if there is a low turnout we will have to make adjustments to what is included but you will be fed and we will have the campsite. The deposit has been made to the campground already and we hope that you can make it.
Anyone can open a pay-pal account.
The account has been opened by Rick Kirkpatrick to process all expenditures associated with this event. All assets and liabilities are logged into a spreadsheet and will be available for review.

Who is planning the reunion?
All reunion decisions are made by the reunion committees co-chairs, Rick Kirkpatrick and Christina Curtiss-Colclough but we have delegated some tasks to committee members when appropriate. There is a lot of work involved in putting this event together so if you would like to participate in the efforts, please email either rick.1904@gmail.com or brickbratkc@hotmail.com as soon as possible, we could use you ideas and help.
